MED-EMIP Experts' Group / Steering Committee meeting 4/5/2009
MED-EMIP is organising the first Experts' Group / Steering
Committee meeting in Brussels on 4 -5 May 2009 which will
discuss important energy related issues that are of common
interest between EU and MPCs.
The MED-EMIP project aims at enhancing the integration of
energy markets in the Euro-Med region and promotes
improved energy security and sustainability. It equally
supports the transfer of knowledge on renewable energy
related issues, thus encouraging its use in the
Mediterranean Partners Countries (MPCs).
The project is establishing a regional platform for energy
policy dialogues and exchanges of experiences on secure
energy supplies, diversified energy sources and reduction
of environmental impact of energy related activities.
MED-EMIP is working in close cooperation with the Regional
Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE)
and has been mandated by the European Commission to ensure
the overall coordination of the ongoing study on the
strategy towards a Mediterranean Solar Plan. Moreover, the
Commission as well as a number of MPCs requested the
update the MEDRING study.
