RCREEE joins GWNET collaboration workshop with national and regional Women in Energy Networks

April 8, 2019 – Berlin, Germany: Gender diversity drives innovation, opens new pathways for technology deployment, brings fresh perspectives to development of societies and attracts and retains a richer pool of talent.

The Global Women´s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) collaborated with national/regional organizations from all around the world to empower women in energy. A workshop was organized back-to-back with the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) on April 8, 2019. It served as information exchange between networks and brainstorm about future joint activities.

RCREEE Senior HR Specialist, Ms. Salma El Aidarosy represented RCREEE at the workshop. After the introductive presentation by GWNET Executive Director, Ms. Christine Lins a presentation of IRENA study “Renewable energy: a gender perspective” followed. Ms. El Aidarosy joined the participants afterwards brainstorming about activities to professionalize national/regional networks.

Notably, RCREEE and GWNET signed a new MOU to provide a framework for the advancement of gender equality and empower women in the clean energy sector.
