Promoting Employment through Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in the MENA Region (RE-ACTIVATE)
Energypedia - The project RE-ACTIVATE “Promoting Employment through Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in the MENA Region”, implemented by the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Society for International Cooperation) on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to explore and harness the multiple dynamic linkages between sustainable energy technologies and local socio-economic development.
- It is identifying and disseminating relevant good practices and success cases among its partners and stakeholders;
- It supports the development and implementation of new integrated policy concepts and market development strategies for labor-intensive RE/EE technologies and applications;
- It helps to build up and strengthen the necessary technical and professional capacities at both individual and institutional levels;
- It works on concretizing and operationalizing the achieved insights with the help of pilot projects and other on-site measures that have a measurable impact on local stakeholders; and last but not least, it supports the exchange of experience as well as the creation of networks both within and among the countries of the region.
