Euro-Mediterranean High Level Policy Dialogue: “Promoting Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in the Mediterranean Region by Fostering Climate Mitigation Actions”
The Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean Region (MEETMED) high level policy dialogue (HLPD) is a pioneer high level platform for EU-Southern Mediterranean sustainable energy stakeholders.
The HLPD is launched in response to the rising and pressing need of regional cooperation in the EU Southern Neighbourhood region. It aims to promote high-level political and socio-economic consensus for bilateral and regional cooperation facilitating sustainable investments in North Africa and the Middle East region (namely Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia) and fostering energy transition in the Mediterranean region.
The first of the HLPD three rounds is held in Vienna on October 1, 2018 to discuss an overview of the current investment situation of Sustainable Energy Sectors in the southern Mediterranean countries. Other rounds will be later organized as a follow up sessions to ensure that all prospected actions are taken and capitalized.
