Capacity Building Program “Pricing Renewables: Feed-in Tariff (FiT) Design and Structure for Wind Farms and Solar Plants”

| H.E. Dr. Hassan Younes, the Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy handed over certificates for a batch of trainees from twelve Arab countries members in the Regional Center of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency “RCREEE”, in the field of "Pricing of Renewable Energy Projects: Feed-in Tariff (FiT) Design and Structure for Wind Farms and Solar Plants". This interactive capacity building program was organized during the period October 23rd to 27th, 2011 in Cairo through cooperation between RCREEE, Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency “EgyptERA” and the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Energy represented by the New & Renewable Energy Authority “NREA”. |

.png) The Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (During May 16th to 25th, 2011, a training course on “Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) and Grid-connected Solar PV” was organized in Granada by RCREEE), the League of Arab States, the EuroArab Foundation for Higher Studies and the Advanced Technology Center of Renewable Energy organized a training course on “Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) and Grid-connected Solar PV” Granada, 16-25 May, 2011. The objective of the training course was to help the participants achieve a global and comprehensive knowledge in Concentrating Solar Power Plant and Grid-connected Solar PV. The course was attended by 17 participants from 8 Arab countries. |

Capacity Building in the Field of Wind Energy, Stage II

| Following up the subject of the first stage of the training program which focused on wind farms design, RCREEE, in cooperation with Renewable Energy Development Center (CDER) in Morocco, held a second stage. This stage focused on the subject of wind farms operation and maintenance taking into consideration the regional and the international experience in this area. |

| Based on the needs its member states for developing wind energy and its optimal use, RCREEE, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, in collaboration with the NREA, The National Authority for New and Renewable Energy in Egypt, organized a regional training workshop on phases pertaining to Capacity Building in the Field of Wind Energy. |
