RCREEE is a policy think tank which is dedicated to the promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency. As a policy research institution, it focuses in particular on improving the regulatory framework. Its goal is to develop and disseminate policies which are favourable for renewable energies and energy efficiency and which further support the growth of a regional industry in that area. In addition, RCREEE supports pilot projects in order to prove new technologies in the field of RE and EE and offers training courses in selected areas.

The activities of RCREEE comprise the areas Policies, Research and Development (R&D) and Public Private Partnership (PPP):

(i) RE and EE Policies: RCREEE supports the formulation and dissemination of policies aiming at the promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency. RCREEE believes that the regulatory framework plays a decisive role in the promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency and that an important component of any policy process is to engage in a regional dialogue and to build a network of regional actors.

(ii) R&D: RCREEE supports the development of new technologies in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency. RCREEE assists in formulating a supportive regulatory framework for research, encourages co-operation within the region and with the EU. Moreover RCREEE can support projects employing innovative technology and pilot studies.
 
(iii) PPP: RCREEE encourages the private sector to actively participate and play a leading role in the development and production of renewable energies and energy efficiency. RCREEE supports private sector participation through the formulation and promotion of respective policies. In addition, RCREEE organises match making events that bring together public and private sector actors both from the region and the EU.

RCREEE is dedicated to making a difference and focuses on such projects which produce concrete results. The quality of any research produced by RCREEE is judged on basis of whether it can be implemented on the operative level.
