RCREEE has ten founding members, including Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen., During the start up phase, RCREEE is sponsored by Egypt, also serving as host country for the Centre, as well as Germany, the EU and Denmark...(the development partners).

The development partners have pledged to provide financial and technical assistance to RCREEE with an aggregate value of EUR 15 million during the initial five years (2008 to 2012).** The financial support shall help RCREEE to build a sustainable operation. The German Development Cooperation (GTZ) supports the set-up of RCREEE through the secondment of a long-term expert. In the future, RCREEE shall be funded through contributions from the member states and income generated from research and consultancy work.
