The Board of Trustees is the supreme body of RCREEE. The Board of Trustees has voting members ("Voting Members") and non-voting members ("Advisory Members"). As the Centre is substantially funded by the international Development Partners Germany, Denmark and the European Commission, each of them has the right to appoint one Advisory Member. The competencies of the Board of Trustees comprise all fundamental matters of the Centre, to include without limitation:
- discuss the vision and approve the work program of RCREEE,
- discuss and approve the general goals and policies,
- approve the general program of activities in light of the RCREEE program objectives and procedures,
- discuss and approve the annual progress report,
- approve the budget of RCREEE,
- approve the financial statements of RCREEE and appoint the auditor, who audits them,
- appoint the members of the Executive Committee and ratify the appointment of the Executive Director,
- decide on the admission of new members to RCREEE, upon proposal of the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee comprises five members, three of them are elected from the members of the RCREEE BoT or other government affiliated entities representing Mashreq - Maghreb and the Host Country Egypt. The other two are elected from the private sector ("Private Sector Members").

Is a doctor in renewable energies and desalination of waters. He is working as the Director of the Center of information on Sustainable Energy and Environment (CIEDE) in cooperation between the Ministry of Territory Planning, Water and Environment, the PNUD/GEF and the CDER in Morocco. Mr. Dakkina occupied the position of head of biomass and environment unit at the CDER, then head of the technical division in charge of the biomass, environment, wind and of energy efficiency division. He represented Morocco in several international meetings.

Mohamed El-Mahdi has almost twenty years of extensive international management experience in the field of infrastructures and has held a number of management assignments within Siemens in Germany, Mexico and Egypt.
Mohamed El-Mahdi is a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University and has accomplished various management programs at Thunderbird School of Global Management, The American Graduate School for International Management and The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University.
After joining Siemens in Munich, Germany in 1991 he worked from 1995 till 2000 in and for the Latin American region. From 2000 till 2003 he took a first assignment to Egypt and was in charge of the IT and telecommunications business of Siemens. In 2003 he was responsible for the Siemens Corporate strategy in North and South America, based in Munich.
Since March 2006 he is in charge of the Siemens business in Egypt, based in Cairo.
Mr. El-Mahdi serves on the board of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce and is Chair of the newly founded Egyptian Energy Saving Council for Industry and a member of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Science and Technology.

The RCREEE Executive Committee represents the BoT between the BoT sessions, is responsible to oversee the implementation of the decisions of the BoT and to advise the RCREEE secretariat. As such, it serves as a point of contact for the RCREEE Secretariat for consultations on ongoing affairs. In addition, is shall oversee the activities of the RCREEE Secretariat.

B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering /Thermal Power, is currently Director of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Department. He participated in many international conferences and seminars, as well as several studies, reports and publications in the field of energy, renewable in particular. He is a member echnical Working Team for privatizing the Electric Power Generation and Distribution sectors in Jordan as well as member of the International Steering Committee of the World Renewable Energy Congress of WREN at the UK.
is currently a professor in Mechanical Power Engineering Department, and Vice Dean of Engineering at Cairo University, Egypt. Prof. Khalil has received his Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison-Wisconsin. He directed and participated in several research projects in the Energy field with special emphasis on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

The interim secretariat shall
- Define the allocation of tasks and responsibilities among the members of the RCREEE Interim Secretariat

is working as Technical Director for the Interim secretariat at RCREEE. He was the former chairman of the new and renewable energy authority in Egypt [NREA] , he is very well experienced as a power engineer in operation & maintenance of steam & gas turbines and power plants in Egypt , he graduate in his post in electricity generation till the deputy chairman for Cairo electricity generation company supervising all the power plants in greater Cairo. He supervises all the technical specifications for the conventional power plants in Cairo and all the wind farms in Egypt and the solar thermal power plant as well. He graduated from Cairo University as a mechanical engineer and got his master degree in the same field. He is certified as Renewable Energy field consultant from the Engineering Syndicate in Egypt.
Acting Director - Head of Interim Secretariat. Kilian Baelz is the head of the Interim Secretariat. Before joining RCREEE, he was partner in a Frankfurt based law firm specializing, among other areas, in renewable energy law and finance. He studied law and Middle East studies at the universities of Freiburg, Berlin, Damascus, Cairo and London. Among his areas of expertise are the regulation of renewable energies, private sector participation and financing structures.
Amel BIDA is a senior expert at the RCREEE Interim Secretariat. Before, she worked with the National Agency for Energy Conservation (ANME) in Tunisia, where she was a project manager at the studies department and coordinated activities with various authorities, private & public companies, as well as international institutions working in the energy and environmental sectors.
She studied economic sciences, urban planning and development and got her master degree from the University of Tunis. She has extensive professional experience in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change and CDM.
Eng. Ashraf Kraidy is a senior expert at the RCREEE Interim Secretariat. Before, he worked with the National Energy Research Center (NERC) in Syria, where he was the head of Energy Regulation Department.
He studied power engineering at Damascus University where he got his diploma degree in electrical energy efficient techniques in 2004 and a Master Degree in Energy Efficiency Labels and Standards for Domestic Refrigerators in 2009. He has extensive professional experience in the fields of energy regulations and policies, energy auditing, renewable energy projects feasibility, DSM and Solar energy.
is working as Programme Coordinator and PR Advisor at RCREEE. Before she was working as Office Manager for almost 8 Years int the Mubarak-Kohl programme for Technical and Vocaitonal Education and Training. She is now completing her Master at the German University in Cairo. She studied Egyptology and did her Mater in Vienna - Austira in that field. Within almost 10 years experience in the Development field, she gained a lot of experience in the area of job counselling and carreer gudinace as well as working with NGOs.
is Office Manager at the RCREEE Interim Secretariat. Before she was working as Management Assistant at the GTZ/GOPA Project "Program of Qualifying Technicians & Technical Trainers in Egypt". Heidi Sarwat studied German Literature at Cairo University and has particular experience in Administration, Finance and Marketing.
Eng. Bothayna Rashed is a senior expert at the RCREEE Interim Secretariat. Currently She also works with the New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA(, affiliated to the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Energy, where she heads the sector of technical affairs. Her tasks at NREA include the relevant renewable electricity generation studies and coordination with the various entities on the national, bilateral and multilateral levels. She studied electrical engineering, environmental engineering and got her master degree in public administration from the Arab Academy for Sciences and Technology, affiliated to the League of Arab States. She got also a higher diploma in business administration as well as in environmental engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo as well as a professional certificate in environmental engineering from the American University in Cairo (AUC). She is a member in the Technical Trustees of the Egyptian National Committee of the World Energy Council (ENC-WEC). She has a broad professional experience in the fields of renewable energy policies and the environment.
