Meetings of the annual general convention of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) start today with a highly official Egyptian delegation, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the IAEA. The Egyptian delegation is headed by Dr. Hassan Younes, Minister of Electricity and Energy. Taking part in this conference are all UN member states. High on the convention's agenda is the endorsement of the election of the new Director General of IAEA, the Japanese Yukiya Amano, the successor of Dr. Mohamed El Baradai.
