In her first statement to the press, Helen Bilos, the assistant to the French Foreign Minister and the first General Manager of IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency), has described the city of Sharm El Sheikh as the City of Peace and the most beautiful city in the world.
Helen assured to "Al Akhbar Newspaper" that the new Agency's name IRENA means in Greek "Peace". She said that the Agency will work at achieving peace, pointing out the number of wars which were caused by fighting over oil. The Agency will be working at spreading the new energy of sun, water and wind, which are prevalent in all the countries of the world.
On the other hand she added when asked in press conferences, that women will be occupying no less than 50% of the Agency's jobs, which is unprecedented in the history of international organizations
