| The Inauguration Workshop of the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), was organized on the 25th of June 2008, in the Centre's headquarters in Cairo in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Energy represented by the Organization of the New and Renewable Energy, the European Commission in Cairo and the German Technical Cooperation GTZ. |

Libya Workshop

| On the invitation of the Government of Libya, on the May 14, 2008 a second preparatory workshop was held in Tripoli, Libya. The workshop was attended by representatives of six MENA countries: Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Egypt as well as representatives from the development partners Denmark, EU, Germany. |

RCREEE Launching Workshop

On the 29th and the 30th of January 2008, a regional workshop on the MENA Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (MCREEE) was held in Cairo.
The stated objectives of the workshop were to screen / confirm the willingness of the MENA Region countries to cooperate with the new Centre, as well as to exchange opinions and suggestions of the legal and administrative structures of the centre in order to guarantee independency. |
